OUR STORY

Binalot Cravings was just thought one day when Chie and Ruby were chatting online and thinking of what to do during their free time, which is a lot as both have just recently migrated in the US. Their both love for food led them to the birth of Binalot Cravings.

Chie is a great cook and her home-cooked Filipino dishes have gained some praises from friends and friends of friends during Filipino parties and gatherings. Her home-baked muffins and cupcakes have satisfied the cravings of American friends too.

Ruby, on the other hand, loves eating. And, her cravings for food has led them to conceptualize means to put their talents together and come up with a home-based business that will meet the cravings of other Filipinos like them and their friends for authentic Filipino food and scrumptious delicacies.

They thought of a name for this endeavor and they came up with “Binalot Cravings”. The name has given them the kind of identity they really want to be known- something that is Filipino and something that will picture the need that they are to satisfy.

Binalot means wrapped. It is a unique way of Filipinos in wrapping their food using banana leaves. There are days that they miss “binalot”, but they couldn’t satisfy their craving because of scarcity of Filipino stores in the North East regions. If there are some, they haven’t found yet one that serves”binalot”. Thus, they thought of meeting this need and serve the orders for Filipino food wrapped in banana leaves, the “binalot” way!

The word “binalot” reflects their goals in this home-based business. They both wrap their specialties and expertise, ready to share it with others to be able to satisfy cravings. Binalot Cravings, your home-made food at its best.
